Tomb with a View

This year's play went exceptionally well and was very well received. Many thanks to Bernard, cast and crew for their hard work. Unfortunately we missed being able to perform on the Saturday night and, as bills are still coming in, the production as a whole is looking unlikely to make a profit.

On a brighter note, anyone with suggestions for next year's play should contact a member of the Committee.

Die Fledermaus

The show is now fully cast and principal rehearsals started on September 5th. Chorus rehearsals will start on Thursday October 17th at the Church Hall.

Messiah

Sunday 15 December

There's a bring it and sing it performance of Handel's Messiah in the Church on Sunday December 15th at 7.30pm -- cost £3.00. Theresa Fitzpatrick has agreed to conduct, and Jean Day is helping with the organisation. Scores will be provided. There will be two rehearsals held in the church beforehand -- Thursday December 12th at 7.30pm and Sunday December 15th between 4.00-6.00pm. Light refreshments will be available on the Sunday from 6.00pm for £2.00. Theresa and Jean have kindly offered the proceeds for the Society's piano fund.

Maximillian

Ian Orry is looking at producing the show version in the Church towards the end of April. Cathie Brooks has agreed to MD. As we want all our Society members to have the opportunity to take part the Committee have agreed that there will be no Spring Concert next year.

Membership

Will all members please note that the membership year started again in June and payment of subs for 2002/03 are now due. A renewal form is attached.

And finally...

The Committee are pleased to announce that life membership has been awarded to Jackie Purdey in recognition of the hard work and ongoing support she has provided over the years for the Society. Many thanks, Jackie.
